PDP is “a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning, performance and/or achievement, and to plan for their personal, educational and career development”
Some of the benefits of engaging with PDP whilst you are at university include:
- Helping you with the transition into and within higher education
- Saving you time when you come to apply for jobs etc
- Making you more employable
- Encouraging you to reflect on and evidence your skills development
- Helping you to get more out of your relationship with your Personal Tutor
- Using the iLearn Portfolio as a safe personal space to store thoughts, reflections, evidence for CVs etc. that you can share with others as well as download to take away when you graduate.
Clearly, you will need to engage with the PDP process on a regualr basis if you are to reap these benefits - but a little effort now will help you in the longer term.
